I was awake by 5am this morning and of course the sun was still up or up again. Since the sun is in full force so early I was ready to start the day by going to the grocery store and getting what we needed for the start of our road trip. Mom and I ran to the 24 hour Carrs (which is a Safeway) and go the items we needed for a picnic lunch. The grocery store was only 2 miles from the hotel, but I was enjoying the mountains and talking. I ended up about 4 miles from the hotel after I missed my turn! Good thing cell phones have GPS and I was able to get back on track quickly. Once back at the hotel finding everyone awake we deiced to go downstairs and have breakfast. Walking into the hotel breakfast area was disappointing. The choices were white bread, mini bagels, raisin bran (maybe) and that was all, so this was not the place for breakfast. We decided to head to downtown Anchorage to the Snow City Café. There was about a 20-minute wait on a Tuesday morning. They did offer coffee that you could drink while you wait and they would just added it to your bill at the table. I selected the Snow City Mocha –white mocha coffee with vanilla syrup and a pecan sticky bun. Now that I have had a sugar breakfast it is time for a short drive out of town to our first stop of the day.

Arriving at the Potter Marsh area we were able to enjoy the boardwalk checking out the ducks and geese. There were tons of babies which were super cute! We did not see any Moose or bears here 😦 We did see some large tracks in the mud some someone had been around earlier.

Drove down the Seward Hwy and stopped at a few more look outs to take in the beautiful mountains. On the way down we stopped and did a short hike at Exit Glacier. We went far enough to see the glaicer, but there were a ton of mosquitos so we stuck to the shorter hike.

Once we arrived in Seward were walked down to the water and saw some Sea Otters and Sea Lions. Walked a little bit of the town and headed to Ray’s Water front for dinner. I had the fish and chips which were amazing.
