Disney Dream Day 1 -2/25/22

February 25, 2022

ags and went to park the car. They are still doing covid testing, so we were giving our testing stuff and went into the parking lot for our next set of directions. We took the covid test, now the waiting begins! It took about 40 minutes for our results to finally post. We got our negative test and then headed inside the terminal.

We had a nice view of the ship while we waited to get out negative tests.
When we got to the port we walked to the special concierge line to get checked in and went right through security. We were given gold stickers, so the staff would know that we are concierge.
Our gold sticker to let the staff know we were concierge.

Once we got to the top of the escalator, we were greeted by a staff member and taking over to the lounge area. We only had a to wait a few minutes before the boarding began.

Waiting in the lounge for our time to board.
I waited for people to start boarding, so I could get a shot of the room. There were benches and tables to sit and relax at in the lounge. On the other side of the glass is where everyone else waits for boarding.
Once we got on board, we watched the little welcome show with Captain Mickey and Captain Minnie.

Then were taken into the Royal Palace At lunch we were given San Pellegrino sparkling water.

Mickey ear shaped butter
Beef empanada
I went with the Lobster salad since you can’t get that at the normal lunch places.
Welcome aboard sundae. Our server also brought us the cheesecake to share. Evidently I forgot to take a picture of the cheesecake. It was really good.

After lunch went to Forward Deck to the Walt Disney Theater to scan our code for the safety drill then up to the concierge location. I hope this is something that stays once restrictions are lifted. You look on your cruise app and are given the location of your drill station. Once at the station you open the app and scan the picture of the drill station. They confirm you room members are all present and you move on. The drill happens later. I am going to have another post just about the room and the lounge. There are so many things to share this was starting to get a little long!

We decided to walk around the ship for a little bit before hitting the bar!
We headed to 687 pub (named for the Hull number of the ship). This is part of the new drill. At 4:30 pm all TVs turn to the mandatory safety drill. We were able to sit in the AC, have a drink and watch the drill. I hope this is something that they keep.
View from 687 Pub
Shipbuilder’s wife drink (really strong and tart). Had some lemon juice and I can’t remember what else. Not something I would get again.
Chandelier at Royal Palace
Bahama mama
Fried Brie- I always get this, so yummy
French onion soup
Chateaubriand roasted fillet steak with green beans and crushed new potatoes
Crème brûlée

After dinner we checked out the shops to see what things we needed to buy during this trip. A new thing on the cruise is you can use gift cards and credit cards in the shop. Before you had to charge everything to your room. So, if you had your Disney Visa you could use that and get 10% off your purchase (might still be over $50). Since Mom and I are Gold we automatically get 10% off our purchase without having to use our Disney Visa and could use our room credit.

We went back to the room for a little while and then were going to come back down for the showing of Beauty and the Beast. We came down too late and there was limited seating. Right now they are skipping rows and leaving 3 seats between groups, so seating is very limited. The play was showing again on Sunday night, so we headed back to the room. Drink time was still happening in the concierge lounge, but we were so full. We checked out what was offered, so we could be prepared for Saturday night.
