This morning we work up early to make it down to the wharf do catch a boat for whale watching. We stopped at Cafe Nero to grab a coffee and breakfast to go. My coffee was good I didn’t not care for the breakfast sandwich. It was a sausage and egg sandwich but it had an onion jam on it which threw off the taste. The boat had 3 decks. The 1st and 2nd deck had inside seating. The back half of the 2nd deck had outdoor seating. The 3rd had all outside seating. The outdoor seating was pretty full when we got on board so we got a spot inside next to a window.

Once we got out into the Gulf of Maine things go pretty rocky. About 3-5 foot waves which made taking pictures super hard. The first whale we saw was a fin whale, but man it moved quickly in the opposite direction. I had to zoom in a lot on my picture (I just had my phone not my good camera).

We went a little farther out and found tons of humpback whales. The tour guide providing the narration thinks we saw at least 15 different whales.

The boat was so rocky I just recorded videos and hoped to go something. A whale did pop up really close to us which was cool. People on the other side of the boat saw a whale breaching so both side saw some good stuff. The waters were too rough to turn the boat. When we headed back into port it was really bumpy as we picked up speed. Someone on our deck got sick.
After we got off the boat we headed over to the north end for lunch. We decided to eat at Bella Vista on the North End. It is right on Hanover Street which means it is a little more pricey but the food is so good.

We walked down to the park with the statue of Paul’s Revere where a candy shop from Salem just opened. It was closed today, but then we saw a small parade going on for Saint Rocco. According to the website today was the feast of San Rocco.
We walked through the Boston Pubic Market. There was a giant TV broadcasting the pregame stuff for the World Cup. We headed back to the hotel to drop off our lunch leftovers and see if we could find the World Cup game. We decided to stay in our room to watch the game. During half time I ran down and checked in for my conference and then went back to the room to watch the 2nd half of the game.
After the game we decided to walk through Boston Common to see if the duck statues were decorated. Sadly they were not decorated. Then we headed down Boylston St to Trader Joe’s. We grabbed some fruit, wine and a salad for Kelle for lunch tomorrow.
Then back at the room we decided to eat our leftovers from lunch. Our room has a fridge but no microwave. The pizza was still amazing cold.
