Day 3- Castaway Cay

September 20, 2021

We decided to order some coffee and tea from room services before we went out to breakfast. The new process for getting off the ship is to join a virtual que. When we added to que, we were in the 8:35-8:50 slot, which was a little early since the breakfast we wanted to go to didn’t start until 8:30am. We kept leaving and returning the que until we were given a time that was better aligned to when we wanted to get off the ship.

We got ready for the beach and headed down to Enchanted Garden to have breakfast.

Chocolate donut

I decided to have a chocolate donut. It was a glazed donut that was dipped in chocolate!

Omelet with cheese and sausage, toast, hash brown

I had a Sausage and Cheese omelet with white toast and hash-brown.

My “princess” ketchup

Then it was time to fill up our water bottle and get off of the ship.

Chip and Dale playing Volleyball
Chip and Dale

As we were walking over to the beach, we saw Chip and Dale out playing volleyball.

Captain Jack Sparrow was also at the beach.

Mom stopped for a picture at Mount Rustmore
A few rows back from the water, but also in some shade.

We found some seats in the shade and headed to the water. The water was nice and cool and very clear. We floated in the water for a while, then it was time to go for our Aqua trike adventure. The aqua trikes are these giant bikes that ride over the water. Short person problem I could not pedal and steer at the same time! We rode around for a while, I tried getting some pictures of the ship, but it was hard to see the camera it was so bright outside! We had a good time and got in a good leg workout.

A few pictures came out which is good since I couldn’t tell what I was taking a picture of!
The water is so clear!
This area is not a swimming area only for the water activities. The lifeguard told us to look for fish and that sometimes every sharks come in this area. There is a shark net the blocks of this area to the family beach section.
I tried to get mom and I, but it didn’t work well.

Once we made it back safely to shore, we saw Mickey chilling on his jeep like vehicle, so mom was able to get a picture.

Mickey was chilling in his jeep.
I got mom to take a picture with Mickey this is a good picture location!
Pina Colada and Raspberry puree (one of my favorites!)

After that adventure it was time for a fruity drink!

I had macaroni salad, cheese burger, and corn bread.

Lunch was at Cookie’s BBQ. There was a limited menu and again things look a little different. Once family would be in the line at a time getting your food. They would pass your plates around until you made it to the end where everything was placed on a tray. No spicy chicken sandwich.

It was starting to look like rain was headed to the Island, so mom and I gathered our stuff and headed back to the ship. It did start to rain on us while walking back. We went up to the 13th floor to go Satellite Falls pool. We enjoyed the rain and pool for a little while. I really wanted some soft serve, so we headed to Eye Scream. Well my brain and my mouth are not staying connected so I ordered strawberry and vanilla ice cream! Then was confused when she gave it to me. I could have asked for a new one that was chocolate/vanilla swirl which is really what I wanted, but I decided just to eat the vanilla and throw away the strawberry.

Views from Deck 12 looking out at Castaway

Now time to go watch Black Widow. There weren’t a lot of people in the theater. Every other row was blocked off to help space people out when it does get full. I had difficulty staying awake during the movie. Not because I don’t like it just because it felt nice in there and it was dark. So, after the movie we headed up to Cove and got a coffee. We got there at the right time after we were given our drinks it was busy and no seats were open. Here they also have every other group of seats blocked off. There had some fun Halloween treats we did not get the ghost puff the first day and they didn’t have them anymore.

When we had out drinks in the cafe we got boring stencils. They had tons of different ones I heard people talking about the ones they were given. We were a little sad since that is part of the fun ordering coffee up here and paying almost $5!!

It was getting time to leave Castaway, so we stayed up stairs to listen for the horn and watch the ship sail away from Castaway. It was a little hot and muggy outside, so we went back inside to relax until dinner time.

Dinner was in Royal Court again tonight since it was Pirates Night. The dinner was also Pirate Themed, the cast members were dressed in pirate gear, and some pirates came into the dinning rooms. The pirate that was doing all the talking had a very high pitched voice, so we could not always understand what she was saying. There were other pirates that came around the room and they sang some pirate songs.

Deep fried calypso Crab cake- with Cajun remoulade. This was amazing!

Sunken treasure – Malibu coconut rum, Midori melon liqueur, blue curaçao, pineapple juice, orange juice, sprite
Baby Gem- with blue cheese, radish, cherry tomato, shallots, sweet pecan, and thousand island dressing
Cortes’s cilantro marinated Caribbean grouper filet- over curry rice with a mango, lime, Avocado, red onion, no black bean salsa. This was really good too!
Caramel macadamia nut cheesecake tart- served with whipped cream and caramel ganache. This was really good, but I was so full I couldn’t finish it all

After dinner we decided to some more walking – we walked inside around the shops to see if there was anything else we might need. We did a few laps around outside.

Pumpkin decoration for the night.

Shang -Chi and the 10 rings was the movie of the night- it was really good. After the movie it was time to head up to deck 12 to watch the fireworks. It was a short show only about 3 minutes, but still fun to see the fireworks.

After we ordered dessert we were given another dessert. Spiders for the Halloween theme. We asked to take it back to our room. We were given a lid, napkin, and spoons.
We decided to eat it for breakfast then next day. The inside was a chocolate mousse very light and fluffy.
