Day 2- Vancouver 5/29/2022

Woke up this morning at 5:30 and the sun was shining. The view from our hotel room is amazing and we were able to see 2 cruise ships coming in the morning. We are hoping we will see our ship come in tomorrow.

View from our hotel room at the Pan Pacific.

Slowly everyone got up and moving, so we can get to Jam cafe when they opened this morning. It was about a half mile away and on the way we stopped and checked out the Steam Clock.

Gastown Steam Clock

We then continued our walk up to Jam Cafe. I read that the line can be long especially on Sunday, so I wanted to get there when it opened. Suzi tried not go years ago, but the line was too long. We arrived at 7:58 am and waited for it to open. We were able to get in right away. It is a small place with maybe 20 tables inside. There was as lot of fun decor on the walls.

Nana and Bella thinking about what to eat
Me trying to get Jennah to take a picture, but she was ignoring me.
Jennah had some apple juice, I thought the cup was fun
Finally got Jennah to stop looking at the menu to take a picture with me.
inside Jam Cafe
I thought this Periodic table was cool
Fun Maple Syrup bottle
I decided to get the London Fog (basically a tea latte)
I had the Gravy Coops- buttermilk biscuit, fried chicken, scrambled eggs, pork sausage gravy with a side of hash browns
Jennah had the kids pancakes with a side of eggs and fresh fruit.

After eating all that yummy food it was time to start walking again. We headed back to the hotel to make sure we had everything we needed for a walk over to Stanley Park. It was about 1.5-2 miles from the hotel over to where the horse drawn carriage start. We walked past tons of boats and a Row house. Lots of people outside walking their dogs this morning. I think the girls lost count of how many they saw. Once at the carriage ride we had about a 20 minute wait until the next one left, so we were able to relax and enjoy the view.

Looking back towards our hotel from Stanley Park
Jennah and I were in the front right next to the driver….this was our view!
Checking out the horses Dan (white) and the brown horse we don’t remember his name. They are 14 and 16 years old and will work until they are about 25.
We stopped for about 5 minutes near the totem poles to take a quick look and then we started back on the tour.
I liked the cool dragon statue
Lion’s Gate Bridge
Not a great picture of the statue of Girl in a Wet suit

After we finished the carriage ride we decided we wanted to grab some lunch and a nap. We walked back along the water way towards the hotel. Most places are so expensive we just waited to eat until we got to the food court near our hotel. We decided to get kids meals at McDonalds so something light and “cheap”. Then we got the under the road tunnel back to our hotel. We relaxed took a little nap before we decided too endure out again. I wanted to go to Pandora to get a Canadian charm for my travel bracelet.

After getting our charms we walked back towards the Gastown area for dinner. Mom saw an Old Spaghetti Factory, so we decided to stop in there for dinner.

Inside the Old Spaghetti Factory – we saw people eating in there.
Shirley Temple on the left and Peach Bellini
Nana and Jennah enjoying their drinks
I had the Seafood Fettuccine Alfredo. It was really good.
Bella decided to get the Spaghetti and Meatballs.

After dinner we stopped in a gift store and looked around. We got a few ides of things we might want to get once we come back from the cruise. Then we walked back to the hotel and all of the ships that had been in port were gone. We reorganized for the cruise tomorrow and got our luggage tags put on the bags. Once everyone was done it was time to play a little “Taco, Cat, Goat, Cheese, Pizza”
