June 1, 2022 – Day 5 vacation – Day 3 of the Cruise – Dawe’s Glacier

Sunrise was 4:30 am this morning and time change back an hour as we were coming into Alaska. Nana was up super early, I have not before 7am rule even if the sun is up. After getting everyone up around 8 am we headed up to Cabanas for breakfast then we headed out into the cold to check out the mountains. Luckily the fog had cleared out, it was so foggy last night every few minutes they had to blow the ship horn to make sure people knew we were in the area. When I was awake, I could hear it, but it did not keep me awake or wake me up.

It was cold and windy upstairs but so pretty with the mountains. We took some pictures upstairs and the headed down to deck 4 to get a different view. We saw an Orca and an otter. Jennah and I tried to play shuffle board (we are not good). Then we walked a lap on deck 4, so the girls could see something different. Then hit up deck 9 and the girls decided they wanted soft serve. Then we went back up to Deck 10 to check out some different views. We saw an Eagle sitting on some ice. After standing upstairs for 30 minutes or so taking in the sites we decided to grab some lunch.

For dessert I tried the Chocolate, Pistachio Crème (it was very weird almost like a rubber pudding).

After lunch we came back to the room, the ship was headed into the Dawe’s Glacier area. We decided to open the door, so we could see out (I took a nap).

After my nap, Nana and. I went back upstairs to check this out. We only saw Goofy out doing pictures. Nana and I stopped for a picture with the Glacier in the background.

We went back to the room to order some hot tea and Mickey ice Cream bars as we watched the Glacier.

We think we saw a seal it was far away, so we all I really know was we saw something with a black head. It was very peaceful and made me miss living near mountains. Maybe I need to live in a summer location near some mountains that have snow of the peaks.

Dinner was a Frozen theme I started off with the Duke of Weselton’s Favorites – Assorted Meats and Cheese with Knackerbrod, Pumpernickel and pickles.
For dinner I had the Lobster Ravioli with ricotta cheese, spinach, and a lobster tarragon-riesling wine sauce.
I had the Oaken Warm Apple pudding cake with butterscotch cinnamon sauce and vanilla bean ice cream. It was not very good. Luckily tonight was our birthday night!
Jennah had the chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream
Birthday dessert – chocolate cake with chocolate frosting
When we got back the room Erik had changed the girls sheets into Frozen sheets. They were excited.
Zero was out towel animal of the night.
