June 2, 2022- Skagway, AK

Captain’s log…I have lost track of what day of vacation we are currently on and I have put in the date wrong 3 times. 

This morning we woke up about 7am to get ready for our first port adventure of this trip. We headed down to Triton’s for a sit-down breakfast. Today we were taking the White Pass train and then spending some time in Skagway. 

It was a warm day in the low 70s and really sunny. We boarded the train and it was sitting in the sun so it was really warm waiting until it was time to leave. There was an open seat, so we spread out into 3 seats. Once we were out of the city limits you were able to go stand on the back platforms. I spent a lot of time out there since there was a nice breeze and you could see better.

We saw lots of snow and waterfalls going up the mountain. We were able to see the ship a few times as we were going up and down the mountain. We saw the ranger station where people traveling to the Yukon would have to stop and make sure they had enough supplies to survive the winter.

We passed serval trains coming back down the mountain. There were times when we would have to wait for a train to pass before we could keep going.

We got off the train in downtown Skagway to grab some lunch and do some shopping. We headed over the Skagway Brewery. There was a long line, so we put our name in and started to do some shopping. I had the fish and Chips for lunch it was very good. Bella had the chicken tenders and Jennah went with Kraft Mac and Cheese.

After shopping some we walked back to the ship. While shopping Mom and I both got new Pandora Charms. I went with the Whale Tail and Mom got the bear with the Alaskan flag on the back. The girls were given free train charms. 

No surprise once we got back, I took a little nap before dinner. 

Dinner tonight was in Animator’s.

I had the black truffle pasta.
Since we had a late lunch I decided to got for a light main meal. I had the Shrimp Salad. I really thought about just eating the truffles and moving onto dessert.
For dessert we all had the Cholotate Brownie Sundae. Bella was torn between that and the cheese cake, so we got that for the table. I guess I didn’t get a picture of the cheesecake.

Then Noel our waiter said we also need the Walnut cake too. So we had 2 table desserts tonight. I didn’t get a picture of this one either.

There was a little show in animators bringing all the drawings to live and the Mickey came around. The dining area really has not been busy we see a lot of empty tables. The last 2 nights I think we were the only table for our servers, they spent a lot of time chatting with us.
