The fan made a bid difference in the room. Having the windows open brought in some bugs which meant the girls didn’t sleep well. Took until about 10 to get everyone up and moving. We finally got out of the room at 10:45 to catch the water bus out to Murano.

The bus was super packed and very hot. Once on Murano we stopped in a shop and found some cute things. The first place we went into was Vetreria Artistica Reno Schiavon. I did find a new chandelier for my house at this shop, but forgot to take pictures of it before we left. We watched a little demonstration of glass making. Then headed off to more shops. The girls had a great time looking at different things.

After looking at a few shops we decided to find a shady place to get some lunch. We were able to get a table right next to canal.

After lunch we started walking/shopping some more. Jennah really wanted a glass horse and I knew the place I went to last summer had much better prices than what we had seen, so we headed in the direction.

We found Vetreria Estevan Rossetto and went into look around. Jennah had fun looking at all of the horses and decided on a horse and dolphin. She finally was able to make a decision between all the choices. I looked at the chandeliers in all the stores we went into and was still happy with the one I found at the first stop. Bella found another necklace. The girls said they want to come back and buy more glass. They had a great time shopping. I think I might have created Murano Glass monsters!

We went back into the first store before we caught the Vaperetto back to Venice. There was a necklace Bella liked at that store that she said was a better price than what she had seen. When we stopped in they were working in putting together my chandelier which was cool to see the process.

Then we caught the bus back to Venezia and headed to our hotel. When we walked into the room it finally felt nice in there! They left the fan which I think really helped because the air still wasn’t freezing but was much cooler than it had been the entire stay. We spent about 2 hour relaxing in the hotel since it finally felt nice. Then we decided to head out to get a take away drink and sit outside at the hotel. We went back to a little place we had hit the night before. It was the same price for my limoncello spritz as it was for Bella to get a coke! The hotel had a little area outside where you could sit and see the canal and get a little breeze. We saw some people doing a peaceful demonstration at a square near the hotel and a group of police standing around making sure everything stayed peaceful. The restaurant we wanted to eat at was right across from the square where the demonstration was so we listened but of course couldn’t understand a lot of what was being said.
Then while eating dinner we saw a sea gull try and take food out of a man’s hand. It was pretty funny. He kept stalking the guy as he tried to get away. We sat outside and had dinner at Ristorante Pedrocchi.

After dinner we decided to take. Gondola ride. Jennah wanted a nice calm canal so we were going to take the bus over near Rialto bridge and find a smaller canal. We went to the bus stop and it was like 20 minutes until the next bus so we waited for a while but the kids were being a little crazy, so I asked Jennah if we could just go to the people that were like a 5 minute walk away even though it goes on the Canal Grande. She was ok with that so we headed over there and luckily there was no wait. Prices are set throughout the city which is nice 80€ in the day and 100€ at night. You can get a discount sometimes if it is raining but we didn’t have any weather issues, so we paid full price. The ride started out heading towards the Canal Grande and went across the canal into a smaller one which was nice. We learned that Venice has 128 churches. It is made up of 118 different small islands and there are 427 bridges connecting the islands. The ride looped around and took us back to the Canal Grande and we went past our hotel. When we were coming back to the starting location there was a water bus coming right at us! It was pretty crazy, but these guys do this daily so we were safe. When it came time to get off Kelle, Bella and Jennah all stood up at the same time. The guy was like wait 1 at a time. You could feel the boat rock as everyone stood up. It was pretty funny.

We headed back towards our hotel which was maybe a 5 minute a walk (1 bridge away). We stopped for Gelato (again) and Kelle and I had the Mousse Tiramisu. I am also proud of myself if been able to process a few times when they tell me the total in Italian. We took our stuff back to the hotel and wanted to sit outside, but all of the tables were full so we headed up to the room. We were able to find 1 Chanel that we could change to English so we watched a little tv before bed.
