June 25, 2022 Aix-En-Provence

Slept well last night the AC worked in this place and they had good black out curtains. We headed out to Le Festival to get some breakfast.

Cafe Crème
Chocolate crepe

After breakfast we walked through the market. They had clothes, beach towels, purses, tablecloths, fruits, veggies, pottery, cheeses, meats, breads, spices. We decided to grab several different things and head back to the room to each lunch and get out of the sun for a little while. It is much cooler in Aix than it has been in Italy.

The tomatoes were huge
Tons of different dried Salami in different flavors.
We stopped in to get some bread at Lavarenne and I had to look at all of the desserts.

While walking back past a cool overhead art project that created nice shade in a shopping center. The artist was giving out canvas bags for people to decorate. So we stopped and decorated a canvas bag as a souvenir.

Then we headed back to our room to eat the food we picked up at the farmers market. We had baguettes and olive flavored sausage
Fresh strawberries (picked yesterday) and raspberries
Goat cheese, Swiss cheese, mushroom sausage, cheese sausage, smoked sausage and olives
We saw a fun area near a museum that had a lot of eyes on the trees and buildings.
We stopped at Peches Gourmands to get some calisson a traditional French candy.
We walked over to Cathedrale St. Sauveur we were able to see some of the church. Mass was also going on at this time which was interesting.

We got some dessert at Bechard and found a bench to sit on in the shade and eat our treats.

Dinner at Charyl’s
Croque Monsieur
Wild boar statue. Evidently boars are also a common animal in southern France, but it doesn’t appear they eat them as commonly as they do in Florence.

While at dinner we saw 5 cops run past and then a little while later a police car came from the direction the cops were running in. After dinner we decided to look at some statues that were in the directions the cops ran. As we were heading that way we saw them all walking back, so who knows what was happening. We walked around and looked at some more sculptures on the way back to our room.
