Work up at 4am to get ready to head to the airport. We left a little after 5am and walked over to the metro. The train was scheduled for 5:26 am. At 5:14 we were at the train station entrance and there were a lot of people standing around and the gates closed. We were concerned that the gates were down since it is a Friday at 5am that we would miss our train. We saw people on the other side of the gate so we knew the trains were running. Then people started walking towards the right side so we followed as we came around we saw that gate going down. I ran up to stop the gate, which luckily it did so we were all able to get through. There was a police officer inside the train station and just looked us but said nothing. We were able to get to the platform with a few minutes to spare. We had to ride the train to the end of the line which was about 9 stops
We were at terminal 2 and then once you arrive at the terminal there are more sections. So we had to go 2E to check in. On the way to the section of the terminal there were kiosks to do you baggage tags which was nice since there weren’t a lot of people. Then it was a little confusing when we got to the gate area. There were large groups of people and we were trying to figure out which line we needed to be in. I showed my ticket to a person at the line entry and since I was sky priority they sent us over to that line. Since kelle and the girls were standing with me they let us all go together even though they weren’t sky priority. We had to get in another line and get the security sticker. The man was very friendly and asked the girls questions about their trip to Paris. They were still a little sleepy since it was about 6:30 am. He told Jennah she needed to go get a cappuccino. Then we got in the line to drop off our bags. That was interesting. The baggage sorter wasn’t working so they scanned our bags and then we had to take them to a different area and drop them off and walk away.
We headed to customs line which they had a sky priority lane, so Kelle and the girls were able to follow me in that line. Jennah was excited that she now has 2 stamps in her passport. Then we had to head to our gate area which was the M gates, so we hopped on a tram to head to that area. Then it was time for security. We had to show our tickets and passports so many times today. When we went through security all 3 of the Collins family had their hands swiped. Jennah said they also swiped her shoes, she thought it was super silly.
We headed up to find a place to grab some breakfast. We stopped at Paul’s and the girls got a mustache Paul. I can’t remember what Kelle and I shared but it was a chocolate pastry.

We walked around a store to see if there was anything else we couldn’t leave without. Jennah decided she couldn’t leave without a new neck pillow.
Once at our gate we only had to wait maybe 30 minutes for boarding to start. We left about 10 minutes late today as they were trying to get all the bags on. Here’s to hoping our bags made!!!
On the plane we were feed breakfast. The bacon was really under cooked and I did not eat that, the French toast wasn’t too bad.

Then we were given cookies for a midday snack.
Before landing we were giving a sweet pepper chicken pastry. It did not taste good. I didn’t like the sweet pepper taste.

The flight was so long. I was glad I had an aisle seat, so I could get up as needed. I watched a few movies on the plane, read my book and took a little nap.
When we landed in Atlanta we received a message that a lot of bags didn’t get loaded and were given 10,000 airline miles. Customs was easy to get through it seemed like we were the only plane that had arrived. Once through there we went to baggage claim to see if bags had arrived. Jennah’s bag had arrived but all the rest of them were still in Paris. So we headed to drop of Jennah’s bag to make the next flight. When leaving the CDC was collecting data about Covid stands. So kelle and I agreed to do a quick anonymous Covid test and drop it into the France container. They also gave you at home Covid test to take after 3 days a send in.
After dropping of the bags we headed from the international terminal to A. Which of course meant we had to go back through security. Once at the gate area we grabbed some lunch and went to the gate. The Collins Family’s flight left an hour before mine. When I got into Orlando I went a filled a baggage claim to see out getting our bags.
July 9th the first bag arrived! Only 3 more bags to go.
