Traveled from Atlanta to London. Meet up with Mom and Aad in Atlanta and we went up to the delta sky club in terminal E to grab something to eat and drink while we waited for the flight. There was a section or hot and cold food to choose from as well as drinks and desserts.

Getting on the plane was easy but then we were delayed because a panel needed to be changed. Luckily there was no one sitting next to me! The way the seats were made I couldn’t spread out, but at least I didn’t have to worry about leaning in someone’s space the entire time. I wasn’t in Delta One this trip, but I was in Premium, so we still got a nice toiletry item.

Finally time to take off at 10:30pm. I decided to skip the dinner choices and watch some tv and try to get some sleep. For breakfast we were served some fruit and a breakfast sandwich.

Landed in London at noon and then quickly made our way through customs. It was 1:48 before all our bags finally arrived.

Then we headed down and decided to grab the Heathrow Express which goes directly to the Paddington station (15 minutes). Which by the time we made it to the train that one didn’t leave until 2:20. The Elizabeth line also goes to Paddington but make stops along the way (30 minutes). It may have take the same amount of time because the Elizabeth train left about 10 minutes before the Heathrow Express, but at least we didn’t have to worry about more people getting when we had all our stuff. There was a luggage cart, but from what I could see if was pretty full, so I had an open area where I stood with our stuff.
Once we arrived at the Paddington station we then had to catch the Circle Line to Tower Hill. Once we arrived at Paddington we were trying to figure out which line we needed to take to get to our hotel since this line goes in a weird not real circle. An employee there came up and said he would help us figure out which way to go. He took us over the map with all the stations and came up with a plan so we wouldn’t have to take our bags up and downstairs. It took a little more time for the train, but saved us from the stairs.

We ended up taking the circle line to Edgeware which is the end of the line for Circle line for this part. We had to wait a few minutes for the train to take us back to Paddington where we came from and then finally onto Tower Hill station about 3:40 pm and then had to walk to our hotel. Once we came out of the Tower Hill station you could see the Tower of London which was pretty cool. It was maybe another 10 minute walk to our hotel. Check it was pretty easy, but waiting for the Lift took forever. There were 3 maybe 4 lifts, but the place was busy. Luckily these were a good size so you could cram a lot of people in them to keep things moving.

My room had a view of the Tower Bridge which was amazing during the day and at night.

After dropping our stuff off and changing we decided to head out towards the Sky Garden. As soon as we got outside we turned right back around because you could see the rain coming down the street. So we grabbed our rain jackets and then headed out again. We walked to Sky Garden and checked out things along they. Way we got there it was a little confusing because there was a line but I knew I was supposed to check in at a desk before joining a line. Luckily we found the right desk and skipped the long out side line and took the elevator up to the 35th floor. Then had to find the other elevator to go up to the 36th floor. Finally we made it up to the correct floor and we seated. We decided to get a little snack since we hadn’t had any food since the bad plane breakfast.

After walking around here we decided to head back towards the hotel and see if there was something we wanted for dinner. We decided to just eat at the restaurant at the hotel.
