Slept in until almost 8am today. Trying to catch up on some sleep. Then got up and headed across the Tower Bridge to see what was on the other side.

We decided to stop in at Wetherspoon for breakfast. It was a little confusing we kept seeing a worker walk around there were a few tables that he was bringing food to, but he wasn’t looking over at us. We finally got his attention and turned out we had to go to the bar and order our food. We decided on what to get and for the coffee there was a touch machine to make your own coffee. Dad just got a black coffee and Mom got a white coffee. Since we are in the UK I had tea. I had the Small Breakfast.

The we walked down near the Queens Walk to get a different view of the Tower of London and Tower Bridge.

After taking some pictures and looking around we headed back across Tower Bridge. It was much busier now that it was a little after 10am more people up and moving. We stopped in at the Tesco to get some water and something to eat for the train ride.

After looking around we went back to the room and packed up. I did get a news paper about the Queen.

We walked to the Tower Hill station to the circle like to King’s Cross/ St. Pancras station and headed out to our train to Dover. While on the tube Nana forgot to hold onto her bag when we started to go and her bag started rolling away!

We got on the train to head down to Dover. Finding a spot for our luggage was pretty hard. I got mine and mom’s suitcase in and then Dad just had to keep his with him at his seat.

Once we arrived in Dover we decided to walk to our hotel it was just under a mile. The line for taxis was really long. There was a couple who got off at the train arrived to the hotel right after we did since they waited in a taxi.

Dover castle was rebuilt in the 1180s by King Henry II. In 1066 William the Conqueror came to Dover to capture the port. There are no remains from when he had the castle.

The War Time tunnels were used during the Napoleonic Wars. It was used a barracks that housesd 2,000 men at the height of the wars. During WWI these tunnels were used to house ammunition.
We didn’t make in time to get up to the Castle so we just saw everything from down below. For dinner we headed over to Dover Patrol
