Portland/Weymouth England – September 12,2022

Today we arrived in Portland. As I was standing outside I saw a dolphin swimming around right next to the boat!

We headed down to Lumiere’s for breakfast. I had the French toast with some bacon and hash browns.

When we got off the ship we jumped onto the shuttle and headed over to Weymouth to walk around. The shuttle was very easy it came right up by the ship and made 2 stops along the way. One stop at the Portland Castle and then the next stop in Weymouth and then it was a short walk into town.

The old town water pump from 1775.
The color of this door and the door knocker at the top were amazing.
We got stopped at the old bridge walking into town. Every 2 hours it goes up to let boats in and out.
I thought this was cool.

There were some cute little shops that we saw walking towards the beach. I wanted to see Queen Victoria’s jubilee clock. Then we walked along the beach before we headed up to Northe Fort.

Once at the fort there was some really amazing views. We could see the ship from the top. I walked around in the underground part and it was cool. There were so many things to see underneath. There was a ghost tunnel that was super dark. I decided not to go in there.

This was all underneath the Fort. It was really cool seeing all the areas

Then we headed back to the ship to grab a bit to eat. I had some chicken tenders and the am ice cream. While sitting outside eating we saw 2 dolphins this time. They were showing right next to where the ship was docked it was pretty cool.

Dolphin. I have better pictures on my camera once I get more WiFi I will add those.

Mom and I needed to do some laundry so we came back to the room so we could get those things done and relax before we left port. The all about time was 3:15 today. The Captain came on about 3:15 and said cannons would be shot off soon. So we headed up stairs to see what was happening. On the port there was a group singing (we could hear them). Then we also saw the canons. The Mickey whistle sounded and the cannons prepare for their first shot. As we were pulling out the fired 2 more times. We are assuming maybe because this is the first time Disney has been in port there, but with everything going on with the Queen they could have been doing something to honor her. We did get a notice that Disney has been asked to participate in a Maritime Moment in Liverpool to honor the Queen.

Dad wanted to head down to get a drink so Nana and I relaxed for a little while before going to to meet up with him at O’Gil’s pub. They had some live music so we listened to for a little while until it was time for dinner.

Tonight we were dinning at Lumiere’s.

Fried Brie
French onion soup
Conchiglie pasta with butter lobster, tossed in a tomato shrimp tarragon, brandy sauce with lemon basil (not my favorite thing)

I didn’t love my meal and the serve asked if I wanted something different. I told him I was fine and would just save room for dessert.

I order the Grand Marnier soufflé and mom said “I thought you were getting the crème brûlée”. So our serve brought me both.

After dinner we went and walked through the stores again to see if there was anything we wanted. It was pretty packed last night so we glanced around but didn’t look closely. We still didn’t see anything we really wanted.

We decided to watch the show tonight in our room it was Twice Charmed a different take of Cinderella.
