Just a little late catching up on the last cruise. We went on the new Disney Wish. Ship has a different layout than the other I felt like the hallways felt a little more narrow at times getting from one end of the ship to the other, but it was also much easier to get from one end of the ship to the other.
When arrive at Port Canaveral dropped our bags off, parked and then headed over to the concierge lounge to wait for boarding to start.

Finally made it on the ship and right into the main area. We took some time to walk around just a little bit for deciding to go to the sit down lunch at 1923. There were a lot of cool Christmas decorations to see. I thought the entrance was very pretty. not having the elevators at mid-ship really opened things up in my opinion.

I thought the cat with the cup was a nice touch behind cinderella with the mice hiding under her dress.

There are 2 sides for 1923 – Roy or Walt Disney. We ate on the Walt Disney side. I didn’t take any pictures of my lunch. I got the same thing I always do. The salmon salad. After lunch we headed up to our room. Since we were in concierge we were able to go right in after lunch which was nice. I will have a separate post about the room.

After checking out the concierge lounge we decided to do some exploring the new ship. Of course you can’t start a cruise without some ice cream!

There were some new places to eat on the Wish which is a nice change. There was a Cantina to get taco, burritos, burrito bowls. A BBQ place that had biscuit, pulled pork, sausage, Mac and cheese, fries, sweet potato fries.

Now time to find something different. We headed downstairs to check out the kids club area, so G could play. There was a slide where kids could check in and take the slide down to the kids club. Since it was open house the kids didn’t have to have a band. Even Suzi and I got to take the slide down to the kids club area.

The kids club had a Star Wars, Marvel, Fairytale Hall, game room, and Mickey ship area for the kids to play. The Star Wars area had some Porgs, aliens masters and tons of buttons kids could push while playing in the room.

The Marvel area had some super hero outfits in the room. There were places to sit and play some games and also 2 video game areas. You had to have a magic band to play with those things, so we just watched a couple kids do those things.

I think this play area was where I spent the most amount of time while on the ship. There were several times during the cruise this area was open and the boys liked playing in here. There were several interactive things and climbing things that G liked doing. Suzi and I hung out in the ship while we waited.

Dinner the first night was at World of Marvel. There were some cool decorations around the restaurant. They also had a show on the TVs with the Marvel characters which was interactive with the things at the table. The show was the Avengers: Quantum Encounter. It kept things moving during dinner which was great. There were quantum cores on the table that would light up and you got to push the buttons as part of the show.

Ant Man and the Wasp show up during dinner. You can see the Quantum Core lit up behind my limoncello sprite. The knife is kind of hard to tell, but at the bottom if you zoom in has the Avengers logo on it.

After dinner we decided to walk a little and check out the shops. So did everyone else!! The line was super crazy and we didn’t buy anything at the time. G wanted to go the atrium area since there was a little show going on. Rob, G and I got stuck down there for the tree lighting fun. It was super packed and got a little warm down there, but G had a great time. There were lights all over the place. The ceiling was pretty cool with all of the lights.

Mickey and the gang came out to do some songs before the tree and atrium was lit. You can see from some of these pictures how packed things are. I had gotten spoiled with the limited cruises from covid I was not ready for so many people, being on the ship.

After all of that day 1 fun it was time to go back to the room and relax before bed. The morning comes way too early with those crazy boys.
