Port Canaveral February 17, 2024

Started off with a super raining morning.  The first part of the drive to the port was really raining and then dropped off to a light drizzle. We had a noon port arrival time and got near the port around 11:30, so we stopped and grabbed a quick coffee and then finished driving to the port. We arrived at the port around 11:50am dropped off our bags, parked, checked in and were on the ship by 12:15pm. It was a nice a quick process. It did help being Platinum we skipped the line of people and were first in the Platinum line. Once we walked on board, we saw Captain Minnie and Belle.

Pixar back drop. They had it open each night to take pictures.

We headed down to Animator’s to get some lunch. When we were walking in we saw a server we had on our Alaska cruise.

For lunch I have the Salmon salad and Welcome Aboard Sundae. It was nice to sit down and start looking over the navigator app to get an idea of what things were going on today.

After lunch we walked down by the shops to look in the windows and see what goodies were there we might want. As we were headed to the shops, we saw Mulan walking around greeting people.

Mulan -this was the first cruise we remembered seeing her

Then headed up to deck 4 where we saw Chip and Dale taking in the sights. We headed up to our room top drop off our carry-on bags. Mom ordered the Pixar room décor which was really cute.

We also found our castaway gifts for this cruise. We received a new bag, beach towel, wet bag, and new lanyards.

We have a nice large verandah. The issue when we opened the door was that one of the loungers had been moved back so far, the door wouldn’t open all the way. We had to wait for our stateroom host to show up, so we could have them move the chair. It was really windy, so the flag off of the back of the ship was blowing a lot making noise, but it wasn’t a bad sound just something we noticed.

Headed up to deck 11 to walk around and check things out. There were a few people in the pool. It is 61 and rainy outside. We sat around in the adult’s area relaxing and checking out the towel animals they had out.

We stopped into sweet shop that you could pay extra for. They had some really cute stuff out.

We headed back to the room to see if we could find our room attendant to see about moving the chair. Still haven’t spotted them, but our luggage was there so we unpacked.

Time for the mandatory drill. This time we are station O and were in the Tube. That was nice to go in there sit and watch the presentation on the TVs. Back to the room to see if we could find our person and get the chair moved. We really wanted to watch sail away from our balcony since we are in the back of the ship.

Looking down from our Verandah you could see the top of Dumbo off the back of the ship.

We were able to get the chair on the verandah moved, so we could go outside. It is really nice and large out there. Once the ship got ready to leave port the flag out back was removed. We watched for a while from the back of the ship before heading down for dinner.

First night for dinner was at Animator’s Palate. I had the Black Truffle Pasta, Garden Salad, and Salmon with baked potato. For dessert I went with the cookies and crème sundae.

After dinner we decided to walk around the shops. It was busy, so we decided to look and get an idea of what we might want to look at again once it was a little quieter on the Sea Days.

It was a little rocky tonight, but not too bad. We decided to get into the Pixar mood and watched Monster’s Inc.
