Pixar Day at Sea February 22, 2024

We had a fun Pixar cling on our balcony door. We noticed it this morning since the curtains were closed when we got back to the room last night.

Time changed an hour ahead which of course meant we woke up at 6am with the sun shinning into the room. 6:40am we decided to go up to Cove for coffee. Seems that was the same idea everyone else had too. It was packed up there and tons of people were out saying beach chairs by the pool. Right next to the signs that said don’t save chairs for long periods of time! We did hear a lot of people complain and saying that haven’t had this problem before. We found chairs easily in the adults area, but of course we weren’t really looking for lounge chairs. Since it is Pixar Day we got fun little decorations on our coffee.

Hit up cabanas for lunch and to check out the decorations up around the boat.

We decided to eat outside. It was a little windy.

Then time for some meet the characters. We saw Rex, Buzz, Mr. incredible and Frozone. The green soldiers from Toy Story were walking around and would pop up places. It was very windy and rocky on the ship today.  We did some people watching as there were a lot of characters out and about.

For lunch we hit up Royal Court. I had the classic cheeseburger again. Then Carmel Pecan Cheesecake for dessert. The menu today was a little different than it was the other day which was nice. I just really like their cheeseburgers so I stuck with that again.

Classic cheeseburger with fries.
Carmel pecan cheesecake- vanilla cheesecake filling with caramel cream and caramelized pecan

After lunch we watched Jack Jack’s diaper dash. It was pretty packed so hard to see, but there were 3 heats of babies crawling with the winners of each heat racing in the finals round. It was pretty silly.

This afternoon we did a mixology class. There were 5 different drinks that were being made. The room was divided into 5 groups and 1 group would go up and make a round of drinks at a time. My group did a gin based drink and the stopped on the gin didn’t stop much so it poured way too much gin into the glass. It was really enough for 3 glasses in the 1 I poured. It was a fun adventure with watching different drinks being made and trying a bunch of different kinds of drinks.

Green Tea – 1 oz Jameson, 0.5 oz peachsnaps, 2 oz lemon and line juice, .5 oz agave (this was good I will have to remember it for next time)
Pama Breeze – 1 pz pama pomegranate, 1 oz St. Germain, 1 oz Passion Fruit, 2 oz Prosecco
This is the drink we made, but it wasn’t on the list they had out, so I don’t know the portions on this one.
Raspberry Lemondrop – 1 oz absolute raspberry, .5 oz limoncello, .5 oz cointreau, 2 oz lemon and lime juice, .5 oz agave. With a sugar rim (this one was really good)
Cocomint – 1 oz malibu, 1 oz baileys, 1 oz bottega nerro dark chocolate, .5 oz creme de mint (this one was amazing!

After the drinks and between the rocking of the ship we decided going back to the room to relax was a smart idea.

We did stop in for the Disney Vacation Club talk. They gave you $50 in stateroom credit plus a luggage tag. Both things mom needed!  It only took 30 minutes so well worth the time.

The ceiling and the flower lights inside Enchanted Garden change as the dinner goes on.

Dinner tonight was back at Enchanted Garden for a Pixar themed dinner. I started with Russell’s baked shrimp Mac and cheese. Then I had Sanjay’s murgh makhani-butter chicken. Since it was Pixar night we got the specialty dessert the playful Pixar ball and the Pixar Chocolate Fudge Sundae.

Russell’s baked shrimp Mac and cheese – chili fried shrimp, cavatappi, white cheddar Gruyère cheese
Sanjay’s murgh makhani-butter chicken – garam masala, cilantro, jasmine rice, paratha, raita
Pixar Ice Cream Fudge Sundae – vanilla ice cream, chocolate fudge brownie, fresh whipped cream and glazed cherry
Playful Pixar Ball- baked vanilla cheese cake, blueberry filling, lemon almond cake
