Day 1 Disney Wish May 10, 2024

Cruise day arrived at port around 11:30 dropped off our bags and headed into the port. We checked in and upstairs with sometime to look around at the ship display. They were boarding groups 1-4 when we arrived and we were group 9. We didn’t have to wait long before it was our turn to get on board. Gentry was so exited he kept asking if we were on the ship and as soon as we actually saw the ship he was excited.

Once on board we headed up to deck 11 to get some lunch. We daily found a table to drop our stuff and grab some lunch. I stopped for some bbq. I had sausage, brisket, Mac and cheese, with jalapeños corn bread. We were finishing up lunch around 12:30pm and looked the line of cars of people waiting to drop off their bags and park before they could get onto the ship. I am so glad we had the early port time it made grabbing a table and easily getting lunch really nice. Then time for some ice cream before hitting up the pools.

Mickey’s smokestack – they had potato salad, Mac and cheese, sweet potato fries, jalapeños corn bread, collard green, chicken, sausage, brisket.

I had sausage, brisket, Mac and cheese, with jalapeños corn bread. There were at least 4 different kinds of BBQ sauce.

Took a quick movie break while everyone got ready for the pool.

Gentry was excited to hit up the slide he went down the slide-a-saurus a few times. He had me go down it which was an adventure. Needed some more water I got a little stuck near the bottom. Rob had warned me that might happen, so I was prepared. Then boys played in the Toy Story splash zone. There were 2 slides in there that Gentry enjoyed. I liked the little wading pool with a waterfall that allowed me to see the splash zone and watch G has he came out and headed back up for the slide-a-saruaus.

This pool was my chill spot during the cruise it was in the small kid zone but usually pretty quiet.

Our room was on deck 11 which was very convenient since that is where the pools and food were. We were able to unpack our luggage and get ready for the drill. Our drill location was on deck 4 in the Walt Disney Theater. Not having to wait outside with the boys was really really nice. George was in crazy mode during the drill so it was good he could be on the floor or in a seat. He hadn’t gotten a nap, so was running on pure crazy.

After the drill getting back to deck 11 was crazy there were so many people waiting for the elevators and stairs. The stairs give you a good work up going up from Deck 4. Once we made it up stairs it was time to head for the sail away party. We grabbed some drinks of the day in souvenir cups and watched the show. It was super hot and sunny out, so we did our best to find a spot in the shade during sail away.

Then we headed back to our rooms and watched from the verandah as we sailed away. Gentry had a million questions about the water, boats and animals. We did see 2 dolphins but only caught one glimpse of the them. I am pretty sure I also saw a turtle but again it never came back up so hard to know for sure what I saw.

Dinner was down in Worlds of Marvel. Gentry remember parts of the show at dinner from last time and was super excited about being able to hit the buttons on the Quantum Core. After the show that played on the screens Spider-Man came around and took pictures with the kids. Gentry was super excited about that.

Georgie through it was a little loud. When the lights would go off on the core he would point to it and ask me to turn it down and say “too loud”. Gentry loved it as you can see by his face.

In the short show that is played they had Ant-man, Wash, Ms. Marvel, Captain Marvel, the new Captain America.

Dill and Meyer lemon marinated shrimp- minneola, English cucumber, crème fraiche, salmon caviar
House salad
Ricotta gnocchi- fontina cheese, caramelized grape tomato confit, broccoli rabe, arugula pesto

George wasn’t too sure about someone cutting his food. He ordered the spaghetti and meatballs, but didn’t eat much of that. Gentry had the chicken tenders with lots of ketchup (which were good)

Dessert was the winner of the night. G had a red velvet cupcake I think he only at the frosting. G2 has a mickey ice cream bar.

He wanted me to know his hands were dirty and he needed to go to the bathroom to wash them.

Pym donut sundae – dulce de leche, pecan brownie, Carmel fudge sauce, chocolate glazed mini donut, whipped cream

We tried walking into the shops after dinner, but it was so busy we ended up in a check out line and we were just trying to walk around. So we decided to skip that for now and go check out more parts of the ship. The atrium is really cool and they change the lights with the music which draws the crowds.

We decided to see the play Seas the Adventure. It was pretty full when we got there we sat in the balcony which the seats weren’t the best I am sure I missed some stuff, but it was still fun. Gentry really enjoyed the show. It was about 30 minutes which was the perfect amount of time for him for his first show.
