Day 3, Castaway Cay May 12, 2024

Headed in to Castaway Cay today. We decided to get some breakfast up in the Market before heading out to the beach. I got Olaf on my coffee this morning. Evidently breakfast wasn’t too exciting I didn’t take a picture of it.

A little overcast this morning, but the island looks good! The boys were excited to head to the beach.

All ready to head to the beach and pick out some chairs in the shade! G is excited to go hit the waterslide.

We headed to the areas near Pelican Point for the water slide. I wanted a view of the ship so we found a spot with a view of the ship and then the entrance to pelican point was a few short steps behind us. It was also near the bathroom!

G2 making himself at home and G starting to play in the sand.

We got out the sand toys, but needed some water to build anything. G2 had fun just playing with the dirt. Of course he wanted to put the sand all of the towel, chairs, etc.

We headed over the slash area, so G2 could play in the water. He had fun running around chasing the water. For a while he was buy himself enjoying the space all to himself.

Rob and G headed to pelican point for the slide. I managed to get a Live Photo when he got the top and slipped, but he popped right back up and went down. I was able also get a shot right before he came off the slide.

After the slide it was time to get serious about building a sandcastle. We found a nice spot on the beach to start building. I was instructed to get a lot of photos, so he could show his friends at school when he got back.

After being on the Island for about 90 minutes it was now time to get the sand off and eat some snacks! It was still about 45 minutes until lunch on the Island was going to be served so we decided to head back to the ship and just get lunch there.

We decided to take the shuttle back to the ship instead of walking. We walked to the beach in the morning taking the shuttle back was a nice choice.

I decided I was going to hit the taco stand today. It was yummy. The ship was nice at this time since most people were on the island.

Fajita beef tacos.

I was getting a run down on the slides. The white slide AKA Aqua Mouse and the yellow slide AKA slide a saurus rex. He talked me into going on the white slide with him. We went at least 7 times! I lost count. If there was no line we were allowed to stay in the raft and keep riding. If there were people in line we would hop out and get back in line. He loved it! He was just tall enough to get on and was given a wrist band, so he didn’t have to get measured every time.

After all the riding the slides it was time for a Bon Voyage and ice cream!

After all that fun it was time for a nap. I was nap time supervisor today. G and I started watching a movie and quickly fell asleep.

At 4pm all the pools and slides went on a break. Then the lines at Aqua Mouse were long, so he decided to go back the Rex slide. He got Suzi to ride it with him this time. I went back to my little pool to relax and watch.

Dinner tonight was at 1923 I think we were on the Roy Disney side. This restaurant has 1 name, but then you looks to see if you are on Roy or Walt’s side when you go into the restaurant. There is tons of art work all throughout the restaurant. We were lucky and had a window seat even through my back was to the window it was nice be able to look out.

Hyperion four-cheese tri-color tortellini- Meyer lemon, artichoke. Sun-dried tomato, baby spinach
Garden salad with blue cheese dressing
1923 peppered filet Mignon- buttered long green beans, smoked bacon, crushed fingerling potato hash, pink pepper cafe au lait
Birthday dessert

After dinner we headed to the kids club, so G could ride the slide one last time and then turn in his magic band. We enjoyed walking around a little bit before heading back to the room. The chocolates today said Happy Mother’s Day.

I was super tired from being in the sun all night that I was not going to the play. G talked me into going to the play with them. Tonight was Aladdin which is what G and I were watching during nap time. We went with the balcony seats again tonight. We were early enough that we go the front row in the balcony, so no obstructed view in front of us. The Genie in the show was super funny made relevant jokes. Talked about going to the Aqua Mouse or getting ice cream – which of course then G asked me is he really going for ice cream. Is the Aqua Mouse really still open and is he going to ride it? Then at one point I see Jafar and Iago in the balcony right at the end of our row! So when the stuff on stage got done Jafar starts talking and then leaves. Well Iago was still there looks right at mom and says “What are you staring at?” and kept going. We were crying we were laughing so hard. Then he left too. G had a good time at this play too and I was glad he talked me into going with him. He really liked going to the play during the cruise which was fun. 3 nights is really short for cruises. Another day would have been nice to do a few more things on the ship.
