Drove down yesterday to Fort Lauderdale and stayed at the Hyatt place. There was a nice little area with some restaurants and Publix really close to the hotel. This morning we had breakfast at the hotel and the walked over to Publix which had a Starbucks. Then we went back and hung out in the room for a little bit. The hotel was about 10 min from the port. We were parked and in line for concierge by 10:30am. No wait to drop off our bags and easily found parking. Then found the line for concierge. We manage to get the one spot that didn’t have a fan blowing. There was some cute Disney art work we people walked towards the port.

We got to skip around people and head to check in. We checked in quickly and went through security. We were pointed to the upstairs concierge area to wait for the ship to be ready.

Boarding started about 11:30 and we went right to Lumiere’s for lunch. I had the salmon salad and we meet with the concierge host. We realized that I wasn’t booked for the mixology class. So Kenan one of the hosts was able to fix that for us.

We walked past the shops to see what goodies could be bought on the ship. The Halloween decorations around the ship was fun. A little warm to think about Fall and Halloween is fun.

Then headed up to the room 8026. It has a Murphy bed and tons of space which is nice. We were able to get into our rooms at 12:30 while the rest of the ship can’t access the rooms until 1:30. You had a go under the barrier telling you rooms aren’t open. So we made sure no one was around to follow us to the rooms!

We relaxed for a little bit before heading up to the concierge lounge to see what snacks were available. We sat down in the lounge and had a little snack. We checked the outdoor lounge area too before walking around on decks 9 and 10. They have different snacks out during the day. I had a tiramisu and we enjoyed a spot inside by the window. There are tons of drinks as well to grab from the fridge anytime we need.

After we walked around some we went back to the room to unpack and get ready for the muster drill. Our muster station was in the Walt Disney theater. After the business was finished we headed up to deck 10 to get ready for the sail away party. After being on the Wish it makes you realize how small the magic is compared to the new ships. There were also tons of kids on this cruise. We grabbed the drink of the day in a souvenir cup. It tasted for sure the top part was a strawberry daiquiri and maybe the bottom was more pineapple like. It was really good.

After the sail away party we came back to the room and watched from our balcony.

Then time to head back to the concierge lounge for open bar time and see what snacks were being offered this time. I got a limoncello spritz and grabbed a cheese plate. Dinner tonight was in Lumiere’s. It was a good first dinner.
We were given 1 trivia question by our server. We had to name 5 counties that ended with the letter L. We got 4 and then exchanged with the table next to us and started talking to them until dessert came.

After dinner we hit the shops to see what goodies we needed the first night incase anything sold out. After shopping we went back to the room to drop our stuff off and then it was time for the pumpkin tree lighting. We watched from Deck 5 it was pretty packed with people and made me realize how much small the Magic is than the other ships.

Next stop deck 3 to o’gills to wait in the lounge for the concierge special early seating. Kenan one of the host saw us and directed us to was toward the open door in the bar. We saw another host who had a tray full of waters and popcorns that we got before walking in the side entrance to the theater. This side entrance was used a lot during the show to get the cast from the floor of the auditorium back to the stage. We were the first concierge people in the theater to pick out seats. The show tonight was Tangled. They did have a moment of technical problems but it was fixed quickly.

So far we will these concierge hosts are better than the other 2 concierge trips. We felt like we hadn’t talked to the host on the other cruises but we have checked in with this crew more in the first day than we did on the Wish or Dream over 3 days.
