September 25,2024 Nassau

Today we woke up super early! By 6:30 am we were up on Deck 10 (our room is on deck 8 so not that far).

View into the concierge lounge

We enjoyed the quiet time walking around until Cove opened and we could grab a coffee. Some rain clouds out this morning we will see what the day brings!

Pulling into Nassau

It was a little windy was we were pulling into port. After watching outside for a little while we stopped in the lounge to see what breakfast snacks were out before we decided on what to do today. We decided to get off in Nassau and just check out the redone port area. There were a lot of shops in the port area before leaving the gates. Places to shop and eat. We decided to just look around those. We found the one thing we were looking for just as it started to sprinkle, so we headed back to the ship.

We were a little hungry and it was a while before any lunch restaurants would open so back to the lounge for a little snack. There were some little sandwiches, sushi, chips with spinach guacamole. I tried the Italian sandwich and an m&m cookie. It was really tasty.

Then later it was time for real lunch which was being served down at Rapunzel’s. It is fun to go in at lunch when it is a little slower and less crowded to check out all the decorations.

We wanted to eat a good lunch since we had our Mixology class this afternoon! It was in O’Gil’s pub today. We were sure how this would compare to the one we did in February. Once we checked in we were taking to a table. A drink was brought around to everyone. It was a Prosecco and Pama (a pomegranate liquor). It was a fun first drink to start off with. The bartender went over all the tools your use when mixing up different drinks.

Prosecco and Pama

With this mixology class we didn’t actually get to mix anything which was sad. They had people off in the back doing all the drinks, so you didn’t even get to see the process. The main bartender talked about the drinks and what you did. Sometime he remembered to tell you the ratio for the drinks. The 2nd drink was a mojito but if I remember correctly ginger beer was added. I kept getting distracted and didn’t always listen since nothing was in front of my but my already made drink.

Next drink up was called the Island Storm. Sounds more like this bartender’s specialty. I think it has passion fruit in it. I was really hard to pay attention when I didn’t see the bottles and stuff. This was some type of martini. The drinks would be passed around while the bartender was telling a story about a previous drink and it was really dark and cold in there so it made me sleepy. The drinks we good, but I don’t know how to make any of these.

The Guinness

The Guinness I remember because it looks like. Guinness and only has 2 ingredients Kahlua and Bailey’s which used a bar spoon for pouring to help with the separation. That one he did where we could see so that was a lot more helpful. I was hoping for a little more interaction like on the last cruise. At the end you could take pictures of the bottles of liquor that were used in the drinks. It would have been helpful if the ratios were also listed.

After that adventure we headed back to the room for a quick nap after all the drinking! Then we stopped in for the Disney Vacation Club preview. We like going since you always get a free gift and if you are willing to talk to them for an extra 30 minutes you can get a $50 stateroom credit. I had tons of credit this cruise so we just went so we could get our free gift! It was a Halloween Goofy you get 1 per stateroom. After all the drinks for mixology we decided we didn’t need to head to concierge for our pre dinner drink and walked a few laps while we waited for dinner to start. We watched the sailing away from Nassau before going back to Animator’s tonight for Pirate Night!

After dinner and some walking we waited in the pub for the special concierge entrance to the show. After the show it was back to deck 10 to get ready for the pirate night and fireworks. It was super windy out tonight waiting for the fun.
