Vancouver July 16, 2025

I forgot to write about the end of the cruise and our last day in Vancouver!!

We work up way to early and grabbed out last cruise coffee before heading down for breakfast.

Has browns and ham & cheese omelette

When it was time to get off the ship we grabbed our bags and headed up to the Pan Pacific to drop off our bags. Normally we stay at the Pan Pacific after the cruise, but this time we are catching the red eye flight home. So we wanted to drop off our bags before doing a little more exploring. Last information I could find was $5/day and I knew we had enough cash. Well…..they upped their prices it was $10/bag and didn’t matter the size so leaving a large suitcase and a backpack were $10 each and you have to pay in cash. So between all of us we gathered up the correct amount of cash and left our bags. They asked about what time we were going to head out, so we told them 1pm and took our ticket.

It was a nice day out, so we decided to go up the Vancouver Lookout. Once at the top there is a guided audio tour that is free, so we listed to that and then went back around and read the signs. They also had a few places to sit and relax. We got there at the right time once we were done there were lots of people arriving.

The white top building is BC Place where you can see different sporting events -soccer, Canadian football.
Cathedral of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary
If you look past the tall buildings in the clouds you can see a little white and that is Mount Baker which is located in Washington
The Disney Wonder in port waiting for the next group of passengers.

After the tower we headed back down and stopped at the train station to get our tickets for the airport. We figured it was better to do this when we didn’t have a million bags.

We spent some time walking along the water front area checking out the signs there and watching the sea planes come and go. We decided to stop at Tap & Barrel to have some lunch. It was nice day so we sat outside. Luckily most of us were under umbrellas because the sun did get a little warm while eating, but we had a really nice view of the water.

I had fish and chips. It was really good.

After lunch we decided to do a little last minute shopping. Before we left on our cruise I had seen some cute Canadian cups that are similar in size and shape to the Starbucks once I collect and wanted to go back and get one of those. I liked that they fit with may cup theme and that they are done by a local artist. Now I just need another coffee shelf to hold all of my cups!

After we were done shopping we decided to go and grab our bags. It was a little after 12pm, but we were done spending money. We collected our luggage and there were tons of people who had done the same thing. Once we collected our stuff we caught the sky train back to the airport. We changed clothes and reorganized our suitcases before checking our bags. Vancouver airport is so different. We checked in, well I handed over my passport and we got all our luggage tags and tickets. Then we had to take out bags to another spot and load them on to get scanned in. Then off to security and US customs. That part was very quick and we made it through easily. We found a spot to camp out while we waited for our flight. As it got close to the time four our flight we found out it had been delayed. Luckily we had a long layover in Seattle, so we weren’t worried. The flight left about an hour later than planned.

Once we arrived in Seattle we grabbed something to eat (it was almost 8pm!) and most places were already starting to close. After eating we took turns walking around the airport and trying to keep ourselves awake until it was time for our flight. Finally time to board our flight and head back to FL. I slept for a little while but not really a good nights sleep. Once we landed in FL we were able to quickly get our bags and didn’t have to wait long for the parking spot shuttle to go back and get our car. It was an amazing trip! We got to see so many cool animals. Alaska is a place I would visit every summer if I could.
