Cozumel, April 7, 2026

Woke up around 6am thinking I’d go see the sunrise but by the time I got out of bed at 6:30 the sun was already shinning brightly. So I went up to deck 9 and got an iced coffee at Cove and sat outside enjoying the weather.

Hit up cabanas for breakfast before going down to button making. You had the option to make you button a pin to wear or a magnet for your door. I decided to put mine on my door.

We were in OGill’s and decided to stay for trivia. It was Disney Parks level 2 we got 4 out of 20 questions correct. Clearly we were not ready for level 2. After Trivia we went up to deck 10 to watch the ship pull into Cozumel.

Mom and I decided to have lunch at Rapunzel so we could have the Classic cheese burger and the Gold Rush Sundae.

After lunch it was time to head to get ready for our excursion. Once off of the ship we had to walk up the broken escalator and then over an overpass and down a working elevator to a bus to take us to the first stop.

Walking over the overpass to get away from the port.

The first stop on our excision was the Mayan Bee Sanctuary. We learned about the Melipona Bee. We got to try the Melipona Bee honey which only produces for a few months. The bees only live for 40 days. The queen lives for several years. To extract the honey the bee keepers use syringe. The honey was good not super amazing a lot thinner and runnier than typical honey. I didn’t buy that honey but I did buy a bottle of what is considered European honey (which is because those bees were brought over from Europe).

We drove along the northeast part of Cozumel and around to the Mayan Cocoa Company. We saw how they made their chocolate. It was a little gritty. I bought some to try and see if was processed a little smoother for consumption. I did buy some chocolate for us to try as well. I bought milk chocolate and dark chocolate coffee (tastes like chocolate covered espresso beans).

Next stop was Tequila. Once we arrived we were given a brief history about Tequila and the process. Then we got to try 2 different ones. The first one was just your regular clear tequila and the other one had been aged for over 2 years. It was much smoother. I purchased 2 small bottles for my collection. I had to turn them in once I got back on the ship and won’t get them back until we arrive in San Diego.

Tequila Blanco and I can’t remember the one on the right. I brought a bottle and will have to update once in San Diego

We let our serve know last night we wouldn’t be in for dinner. We didn’t get back on the ship from our excursion until 5:45 PM. Then I decided to do a load of laundry. The next two days are sea days so most people will be trying to do some laundry.

After I got my laundry started I headed up to deck 9 and grabbed a hotdog from the quick serve for dinner.

2nd soft serve of the trip.

Lightyear was playing on the funnel vision so we stayed up there to watch the movie. I actually hadn’t watched that movie. It was pretty funny in some parts. I need to go back and watch the beginning again. After the movie was over I headed back to my room to fold my clothes and then watch some TV. Tonight‘s movie is Captain America Civil War.
