Disney Dream Cruise 9/20/2019

September 20, 2019

Disney cruises are always a good time! There are plenty of parking and lodging places when traveling out of Port Canaveral. We decided to park off site and take a shuttle bus over to the port. We parked at Park Port Canaveral. When you arrive you are directed to a luggage drop off area. You stop drop off your bags and then go park your car. When we walked back to our bags then we were asked what cruise line we were using and directed to a bus. They did load and unload our bags from their shuttle bus, but they do not help you with stuff in or our of your car. Once at the port our luggage was then taken by the port staff to be taken onto the cruise, so make sure all you luggage is labeled and you have everything you need. You next stop will be at little both to get into the port terminal you will need you cruise confirmation and passports (ID). There are 2 security doors and lines send someone to check the far side so you don’t wait in line when the other one is empty! Next stop is check in!! Make sure everyone in your party is with you when you arrive for check in. We arrive a little after 11, so by the time we checked in we were able to get right on the cruise ship. We skipped the before boarding photos, so we could get right on the ship.

The first important cruise decision is where to eat for lunch. We decided to head over to Animators and enjoy a sit down lunch. I went with the Gumbo and Cornbread for my starter. Then had the Salmon salad for my entree.

After lunch it was time to explore then ship. This was my first time on the ship, so I wanted to check out the ship and the Halloween decorations. After walking around and exploring the ship it was time to drop off our stuff and see if our luggage was at our room. Once we had dropped everything off we went up to the pool to get a drink and relax until it was time to sail away. We really wanted a souvenir cup. We got a cup and the drink of the day which ended up being $16. We later found out if you do the souvenir cup and a nonalcoholic drink you just pay for the cup (about $10) or you could get any drink in the cup if you go up to the bars. I wish I would’ve gone over to the bar next to the self serve ice cream and gotten Dole whip with vanilla rum in a souvenir cup.

Once the fun of leaving the port is over the next fun thing for the day is dinner!! Our first rotation was at Enchanted Garden. We met out servers for the weekend and were ready to enjoy some good food. The seas were a little rough. It made it hard to walk around the ship as the night went on, but it wasn’t awful. There were so many good options for dinner tonight. I went with the lobster ravioli, wedge salad, and pork medallions. For dessert I selected the Pecan tart. It was amazing! Our server decided we needed to have a dessert for the table, so we ended up with 3. It was a Warm Stick Date Pudding. Not something I liked and I was glad I hadn’t ordered that for myself.

Adding 7:30pm there was the lighting of the Halloween tree. There is a little story about the Headless Horseman and Ichabod Crane before the lighting of the tree. It is a short little activity to get the Halloween cruise started. After the show we walked around the shops as much as we could with the Seas sending us in every direction. We decided to ship the show “The Golden Mickeys” and went back to the room. Disney board casts all their shows on TV, so we were able to relax in our room and watch the shows still. Our first towel animal for the weekend was a crab!
