Disney Dream 9/21/19

This morning out ship was headed into Nassau. We decided to go and have breakfast at the Royal Palace. Royal Place offers a sit down option for breakfast. We were seated and offered some pastries while we wait for our food to arrive. I had a yummy chocolate frosted donut. Then I ate French toast and sausage for breakfast. Probably not the healthiest options, but they were good!

The napkins were nicely folded.

Next stop was deck 11 for some fancy coffee at the Cove and find a place to relax while we came into port. As we were ordering coffee the seas because very rough the baristas had to stop what they were doing as items were sliding off the bar. We looked out to the Adult pool and the water was sloshing out, sadly I didn’t get a video I was making sure my coffee didn’t go flying away.

The coffee shop had some cute desserts, but we did not try any of them.

Once we got past the rocky area and got into the secluded port section we had a nice view of Nassau. It was a little over cast, but felt nice outside and was fun to sit up on deck 12 watching the boat come into port.

The water is so pretty!

Once we docked we decided together off the boat and do a little bit of exploring of Nassau. I wanted to go look for the Queens Stairs, Parliament, and the Fort. The directions I had from google we good and we saw some interesting section of Nassau, but on the way back we found a much faster way to get to the port. We just take a left onto Bay St and right onto Elizabeth St and straight to the stairs. This way you will be taken to the base of the stairs. If you want to walk up the stairs you can or there is a parking lot to the right before you walk towards the stairs and there are much larger steps that can take you to the top of the stairs and up by the fort. Walking around the fort there are a lot of people selling thing, but you can get a nice view of all the ships in port. It costs about $4 to go inside and walk around the fort or for free you can walk the outside.

After checking out the fort and the stairs we walked back into the downtown area to do some shopping. We stopped at Pandora and Starbucks (so I could get my cup). About 2 minutes after we arrived at Starbucks it started pouring!!! We got some drinks and went upstairs to sit and wait for the rain to let up. After about 20 minutes we decided to brave the rain and go back to the ship. The streets were starting to flood so our feet got really wet. Once we got back on the ship and changed it was time for a Dole Whip with rum!!!!The rain had stopped, so we were able to relax on the deck and enjoy the view.

Disney offers free room service and a cake of the day from room service. We had never tried it before and decided to do it this cruise. Room service is free, but we do tip the person who brings us our treats!

We road the aqua duck and watched a little bit of the movie on the funnel vision until it was time to leave port. We went back to the room and hung out on our verandah while we left port. I was excited to get some good pictures of the Lighthouse as we left port.

Dinner tonight was at the Royal Palace. I had brie, french onion soup, filet steak. Dessert was Tahitian Vanilla Creme brûlée. Our waiter decided again we needed a dessert for the table this time it was Grand Marnier Souflee it was also really good.

After dinner tonight we walked around the ship a little bit and then went back to the room. We were planning on going to see “Beauty and the Beast”, but I fell asleep. I guess I had too much fun today! The towel creation tonight was a pumpkin! We had a room on the starboard side, so when it was time for fireworks we were able to walk outside and enjoy them. We decided not to go upstairs for the firework show.
