Next adventure was to walk around a little while we waited for the Pizza place to open. We came across the Royal Palace and were able to look out from the outside. We did learn that the palace used to be connected to the theater, so the king could come from the palace to the theater without having to go outside.

The tour of the theater was offered in Italian and English which was really hard for our guide. She was provide all of the information in Italian and then have to repeat everything in English. She did forget a few times, so we would have to ask her to translate for us. The tour was about an hour and was €7 for adults and €5 for kids. We were able to walk right up to the ticket off and get tickets for the tour. We didn’t think the tours were being offered, so we had stopped at a pay toilet and paid €1 to use the restroom. Then we saw the theater was offering tours and the English tour was about to start, so we went in for the tour. We found our the theater had free bathrooms!

Teatro di San Carlo is the oldest continuously active opera house in the world. It opened in 1737. There are 184 spread out over 6 levels plus the royal box.

What a beautiful looking place! I bet the shows are more magical than Disney! Pops
