Woke up way too early this morning after getting to bed late. The sun was up and shinning by about 5:30am. We were heading out of the hotel by 7:30 am to make it over to Jam Cafe when they opened. We arrived about 5 minutes before they opened and were able to get in on the first round of seating for breakfast.

I had the London Fog and the Gravy Coop – a buttermilk biscuit served with fried chicken, topped with scrambled eggs, gravy and a side of hash browns. When I finished eating it looked like I hadn’t eaten anything the portions are so large, but it was so good.

After breakfast we headed over to Canada Place to pick up the hop on hop off trolley. That area was super crazy- 2 cruises had just arrived and there was a convention in town, so the street was blocked off. So that meant we had to find out where the trolley stop had been moved to, luckily I remembered from a few years ago to check a parallel street. We found a trolley loading up and were able to hop right on. We rode the trolley around until Granville Island.

Once there we waited for Uncle Matt and family who happened to also be in Vancouver this weekend. We met up with them and a little coffee shop and chatted for a while.

Then it was time to explore the Public Market at Granville Island. We picked up some fruit, sandwiches and donuts for tomorrow. Then spent some more time looking at all the yummy food and different shops that were there. Lots of fruit and vegetable stands, tons of take and make pasta dishes. Lots of yummy looking desserts those lines were long, so we did not get any.

Lee’s Donuts is a mom and pop donut shop that has a few locations around Vancouver. We got in the donut line just at the right time. We were able to look at all the choices an make a decision. Once we paid the line had about 20 people in it! This place is super popular and I am glad we were able to get a few donuts to enjoy for breakfast Sunday morning.

As we were walking back to the Trolley stop we saw a couple of Harbor Seals in the water near a boat. I guess they were hoping to take their fish to go.

No surprise we were getting a little tried and decided to go back and find the Trolley. Luckily one of the Trolley stops is right in front of our hotel, so that was really nice and saved us a walk. We decided to spend some time relaxing after a busy morning before heading back out for more evening adventures.
For dinner we headed over to the Old Spaghetti Factory I was able to make a reservation so we didn’t have to worry about waiting for a table. For dinner main meal got bread, salad, pasta, and dessert. Now we have enough food leftover to cover dinner for Sunday night, we just had to carry it around doing the ghost tour.

Once we were done with dinner we decided to walk around and check out some souvenir shops while we waited for the Lost Souls of Gastown to start. The person giving the tour arrived in a nice period costume which is always exciting. Our first stop on the tour was the Victorian Hotel it was under renovation and looked like a cool hotel, but no Ghost we were just taking there since it is the longest operating hotel in Vancouver. The main focus of the tour was the Vancouver Fire of 1886 but the stops as part of the tour to talk about the fire could have been done at our starting location. The stops to talk about the fire didn’t really make much of a difference as there were not spotting of ghosts at these stops and they weren’t the actual locations for the stories they told. We decided we really could have just stayed where we started since the locations they took us to weren’t really relevant to the stories they were telling us.
Once the tour got done we still had a 30 minute walk back to the hotel. We were tired by the end of the day!
