Sorrento

We headed down to Sorrento on a Saturday (which was a bad idea). When planing it said the drive would take a little over an hour. When we got ready to leave Saturday morning it was saying an hour and a half. It ended up taking up almost 2 and 1/2 hours to get down there. There were tons of people heading to the coast as well. We made it to Sorrento and were hungry, but decided to stop at this wood working shop before we decided on lunch. We stopped at Gargiulo & Jannuzzi to look at the ceramics and the inlaid wood. There were a lot of amazing pieces. It was a good thing we stopped before we went to lunch they closed from 1-4pm! One of the shop workers told us about a restaurant (that her husband owns) as a place to stop for lunch. She said if we go there to mention her name and tell the waitress if the food isn’t good we don’t have to pay.

So we decided to give the place and try and went off to find the restaurant La Cazzarola. We sat down and decided to have some lunch since we were all hungry. Sorrento is know for their lemons, so a lot of the food related to lemons.

Limoncello Spritz – limoncello, prosecco and soda water.

When we got to the restaurant we told our waitress the name of the person who sent us over for lunch. We were give a free appetizer Montanarine (fried pizza) it was amazing.
Tagliere di Salumi e formaggi (salami and cheese plate) The black bowl had caramelized onions. There were also bowls with fresh mozzarella, and olives.
I opted for the Lemon ravioli it was very light and refreshing.
After lunch Kyndall went inside and ordered coffees for us. The waitress also brought us a shot of limoncello to drink. Brandon’s empty dish is in the background her had a potato pasta and cheese. It was also really good.
There were stairs or a paid lift you could take to get down to the beach. You could rent chairs and umbrellas to lay on the dock. There were stairs that lead to the ocean.

Walking the streets of Sorrento to do some shopping.

We stopped at Limonoro on Via San Cesareo. As soon as we walked in we were offered a cookie to try. Once we were done eating the cookie someone offered us limoncello. Then we were offered a different treat, then a different limoncello drink. We tried 3 different drinks and at least 3 different treats. It did get me to buy more things that I was planning after trying several different things.

We headed back to the car and decided to head back home. We selected a parking garage near the woodworking place it was pretty cheap compared to some of the other places we have parked in, only €3/hour. The drive back was much faster only about an hour the traffic was much lighter leaving the beach.
