Well this is a little late getting my recap of the cruise up! We all woke up and were extremely excited to head to Port Canaveral for our weekend cruise! I volunteered to make a Starbucks run before we left town, so we didn’t have to stop on the way. Kelle missed the message about which Starbucks I was going to and ordered from a different one. So after a trip to 2 different Starbucks I was back and Suzi’s and ready to pack up. We all met up at Kelle’s and left about 9:15. The trip out to Port Canaveral was easy not a lot of traffic which is alway nice. We were excited to see the first glimpse of the ship!!

We decided to park at the port and it was extremely easy. We dropped out bags and found a parking spot on the 1st level. We grabbed all of our carry ons and got in the first line to head into the port. Once we made it through the first line we headed to security. After security it was time for the fun line check in!! We got all checked in very quickly and received our Key to the World card. Bella and Jennah received their bands for kids club, now it was time to wait for boarding to begin. Kelle and I went and check out the model of the ship which was super cool. Mom took the girls over to get a smashed penny for the cruise. BOARDING TIME!!! We all started boarding, skipping the picture line and walked right onto the ship. Once on the ship we saw Donald Duck upstairs and Bella decided she wanted to get a picture with him and an autograph. As soon as we got upstairs Donald had to leave and go pick up Huey, Duey, Luey from school. Evidently they got in trouble and he had to go deal with that. We were told that Goofy was coming, so we decided to wait and see him. We were first in line, so we really didn’t want to leave. We had a few hangry people in our group, so they headed down to Animators to get a table.

After getting the picture with Goofy we headed down to Animators for some lunch. It was nice to give the girls a chance to look over the navigator and decide what they wanted to do on the first day. For lunch I had the beef empanadas, Salmon Salad and Cookie’s and Cream Cheesecake.

After lunch was over it was 1:30, so we decided to head to our room and drop off our bags before exploring the ship. The girls had a special surprise waiting in the room for them when we arrived. Nana had to room decorated with Christmas cruise themed items. The girls got changed and ready for the pool. Kelle, Suzi, Rob and I got ready for out drink tasting in the Spa. In the Spa we started with some healthy drinks that are all made and served in the Spa (for a charge). Then we had a Bloody Mary and Mimosa.

After drinking at the Spa we stopped at the Adults only bar and had a drink. After the drinking it was time to head down for the safety drill. Once the drill was done we took the girls to check out the kids club area and get them all check in and ready for some fun.

Dinner the first night was at Animators Palate. For dinner I had the Black Truffle Pasta Purseittes, Lemon-Thyme Marinated Chicken Breast, and the all aboard sundae. Dinner was very yummy and we had a great time.

After dinner we went to the tree lighting ceremony. Then it was time to head up stairs and enjoy to pool at night! Bella and I did the Aqua Duck twice. We walked right up and got on the ride, rode down, and did it again right away. After 2 times my needs a break! It was a lot of fun. Then we hung out in the pool for a little while and watched a movie before going back down to the room and getting some sleep.
