We drove down to Freedom to let the pups play before grabbing a 3rd dog to take out for training. Tango is a black lab that is a fully trained guide dog preparing to head out for her placement. Yuki (English Cream Golden Retriever) and Latte (Yellow Lab) are both currently in training to become guide dogs for the blind.

We stopped at Stagecoach Coffee in Cooperstown to grab a coffee before starting our adventures. Stagecoach had tons of good looking pastries and dessert. We skipped those since we already had breakfast and it was too early for dessert.

We walked over to the Baseball Hall of Fame to get tickets. We did see a charter bus drop a group off and they headed into the Hall of Fame! We figured this would be good for training with all 3 dogs since lots of people can be a distraction. We headed up the stairs for floor 3 and work our way down. There are so many things to see and read it would take hours to read everything or multiple trips to the hall of fame. The dogs were so good while we read all the different displays. We even checked out the bobblehead room and some history displays. The hall of fame had different educational displays. We did one on women in baseball and how uniforms have changed. Then there was a talk on catchers in baseball. The hall of fame has college interns that come and work up there during the summer which was interesting they did the talks and had some of the educational carts we stopped at while walking around.

After the Hall of Fame we went looking for lunch. The place we wanted to stop at was packed, so we ended up stopping for pizza. We stopped at Sal’s Pizzeria of Cooperstown they had slices ready to eat and lots of different toppings.

The one issue we had was they told us our service dogs were not allowed inside and we had to eat on the porch. I tried to explain to the work why she was incorrect, but she did not seem to understand. I am sure just repeating what her boss had told her. We had already ordered and there was a nice covered patio outside, so we ended up eating there. Plus there were no seats inside that we could see which meant dogs or no dogs we would have ended up outside. The pizza was good something easy after walking around and perfect timing since our meeter time was close to running out.

After we left Cooperstown we headed to Fly Creek Cider Mill and Orchard. We had fun walking around and looking at all of the different apple products. They had some different ones than what I get in Georgia. We got to try some apple cider and age New York Cheddar Cheese.

I didn’t realize how many dairy products were produced around the New York. We stopped in the tasting room for a drink. I went with the Strawberry Kiss Wine slushy.

Once we made all our purchases we headed outside where there was a snack bar and a pond with ducks and geese. The geese were pretty creepy with their sharp looking tongues and the hissing.

At Fly Creek we picked up a ready made Charcuterie board. It came with Artigiano Aged Balsamic & Cipolline Onion, Artigiano Vino Rosso, American Grana (extra-aged), Provolone Extra, Mill-Aged Extra-Shapr New York State Cheese, and Sweet Sopressata. Not sure what order these cheese are in compared to the list.
